W02 | Weekly report - Level selector
Posted by poison, January 13, 2018

Another busy week is over. Of course, I didn't manage to do all the planned tasks but it tends to be a tradition of mine to overestimate. Zen Pinball doesn't help either :) Anyway, I won't complain. Things are going well. Have a look on this week's #screenshotsaturday image!

Nobody noticed (shame, but I did days later also) that the last prototype couldn't be finished as one of the levels never stopped counting time. It was a last minute hack in the script, now it is fixed. More notable is that the continue button disappeared. The reason is simple: finally, the game got a level selector! Now you can replay any puzzle, anytime. Simply unlock the title screen and you can choose from the levels solved. The steampunk setting got another 2 puzzles, increasing the total number to 27. I know, most of them deserve some decoration - at least some help solving them - but forgive me, that is a later task on my to-do list. At the moment I'm happy they work. Builds are available on itch.io as usual. Next besides new levels is implementing localization which is part of the settings menu. Here you are going to be able to set sound volume and language and it allows to reset the records too. Nice goal for the next week, isn't it?
